Vandalism last straw for local businessman

3/10/2008 1:17:00 PM
A LOCAL businessman is so upset by a recent burglary he is planning to leave town.

Angelo Perperiadis’ fish and chips shop was vandalised in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The perpetrators, believed to be juveniles, stole money, a till tray and four bottles of Coke.

However the damage to the window panel ran into hundreds of dollars. It is the latest in a series of break-ins which have plagued the businessman who also operates a fresh food outlet.

“I can’t put up with this anymore,” said Angelo.

“First of all my business was ruined by the Government’s Income Management Plan and now my spirit has been ruined by thieves,” he said.

“I don’t want to know about Tennant Creek anymore.”

Plant and stock from Angelo’s shop which he opened last year has been advertised for auction.

Now he plans to put his home on the market too.

“I’m going somewhere where I don’t have to worry anymore,” he said.

“Then I’ll be able to enjoy my life.”

Whats going on? Don't these kids have mothers and fathers or do they not care where there kids are through out the night? I really think the parents should pay for what has happened. These businesses are what keeps Tennant surviving. There should be a curfew put on kids.
